Teens who were Never Afraid of Being Beaten Up in School: 9th Graders

Measurement Period: 2017-2019
This indicator shows the percentage of 9th graders who reported never being afraid of being beaten up in school during the past year. 

Why is this important?

Feeling safe and supported at school can have a significant impact on academic performance. Students who feel safe and supported at school tend to have better school attendance and achievement, and are less likely to engage in risky behaviors. Students who are exposed to violence in school may experience depression, suicide, substance use, truancy, and academic problems.
