Workforce Readiness: Students Approaching Prepared for College/Career

Measurement Period: 2023
Percent of high school graduates who are approaching prepared for college or a career, as per the California Department of Education (CDE).
Approaching prepared is defined as meeting one of the following criteria: score of Level 2 “Standard Nearly Met” on both ELA and mathematics, One semester or two quarters of college coursework with a grade of C- or better in academic/CTE subjects where college credit is awarded, Complete a-g course requirements with a grade of C- or better, or Pathway completion with a grade of C- or better in the capstone course. Why is this important?

College or career readiness involves graduating high school students' completion of rigorous coursework, passing challenging exams, or receiving a state seal, and is considered an indicator of preparedness for education/employment after high school.
