Community Assessment 2019 Head Start & Early Head Start April

View / Download

The Community Assessment provides crucial data on community strengths and needs that the program uses to make decisions about program direction and service delivery. Head Start Program Performance Standards require that a full community assessment be completed once every five years, and an update be completed annually. This report has been assembled not only to comply with this regulation but also “because a well-done CA is critical to make informed decisions about service area plans and service delivery, develop strategic plans for the agency, respond to new Federal regulations or initiative, mobilize community resources and partnerships, [and] reach out to additional funders.” (Five Steps to Community Assessment: A workbook for Head Start and Early Head Start Programs Serving Hispanic and Other Emerging Populations) Our mission in creating this report was to create a comprehensive Community Assessment that will guide program design and service delivery to be responsive to community needs and build on community strengths.
